Marfa by Memo Paris is a radiant white floral woody fragrance inspired by the mysterious desert town of Marfa, Texas—a place where immense open landscapes, contemporary art and unexplained lights in the night sky have created an almost otherworldly mythology. Released in 2016 and created by perfumer Aliénor Massenet, Marfa centers on an intoxicating tuberose accord surrounded by orange blossom, ylang-ylang, vanilla and warm woods.
The opening introduces orange blossom and mandarin, giving the fragrance a luminous citrus-floral beginning. Mandarin provides a juicy flash of brightness while orange blossom immediately hints at the dense white-floral character waiting underneath. The effect is sunny and radiant rather than conventionally fresh.
At the heart, tuberose, ylang-ylang and agave take control. Tuberose is unquestionably the star—creamy, narcotic and intensely floral.
