Momento by Gissah is a rich woody leather fragrance for women and men, released in 2025 as part of Gissah’s Timeless duo. Dark woods, resinous cistus, raspberry and earthy Indonesian patchouli lead into a decadent base of caramel and leather, creating a composition that sits between smoky woods and a restrained gourmand.
The opening combines cistus and guaiac wood. Cistus brings a warm, resinous and slightly ambery quality, while guaiac wood contributes dense, subtly smoky woods. Rather than beginning with conventional citrus freshness, Momento immediately establishes its darker personality.
At the heart, raspberry and Indonesian patchouli create the fragrance’s most striking contrast. Raspberry introduces tart, juicy sweetness against the heavier woods, while patchouli adds earthiness and depth. The fruit never completely takes over; instead, it flashes through the darker composition and provides a vivid counterpoint to the resinous opening.
The drydown introduces caramel, woody notes and leather. Caramel adds a toasted, almost burnt-sugar sweetness, while leather gives the fragrance a darker tactile quality. Additional woods reinforce the guaiac character from the opening, creating a continuous woody backbone from beginning to end.
